Why would turning on/off miners cause miner failure?
The fast temperature change of the control board from 70C to room temp, then back, causes little fractures in the boards with chips. If they were keep the miner at the same temperature these crack would only be caused by the fans small movement. But really, as we know from the north pole, a few degrees can cause huge cracks to form at fault lines (weak points). This will end up with the board failing much faster.
Hope that made sense, and is correct!
