How to use a multimeter to test PSU

Step 1.

Make sure the cord is plugged properly

Step 2.

Set the multimeter to DC as to check the direct current voltage of the PSU

Step 3.

There are two methods to plug the probes.

  • Connect either red or black probe with the yellow line and black line.
  • Plug either red or black probe into the positive and negative terminals of the PSU.

Step 4.

Read the display, if it shows 12V(±0.5v), the PSU is good;

If it shows 0V, the PSU is broken.
