In order to improve the timeliness and quality of returning machines, after-sales department of BITMAIN needs your cooperation and support. If you adopt the following improper packaging methods, products such as miners or hashboards may encounter damages during transportation, resulting in unnecessary economic losses to you and affecting your service experience.
Packaging methods that may damage the miner include, but are not limited to, lack of standard packaging materials, no cushioning materials in the carton, and stacking of multiple components in the packaging carton. Examples of irregularities are as follows:
- Figure 1: Return of overseas single hashboard. The hashboard was not wrapped by foam completely and the thickness of the wrapping surface was small, resulting in damage to corners of the hashboard.
- Figure 2: Return of pallet bare machine did not meet the standard. The miner was vulnerable to be damaged due to there was no protective packaging material. (Reminder: The repair of bare machine requires an additional charge)
- Figure 3: There was only a gap between the two machines, and no protective measures were taken around the miner. The position of the red arrow indicated that the fan of miner has been damaged.
- Figure 4: The two miners were only protected by a thin pearl-wool film and a carton. It can be seen that the carton has been severely worn. Due to the weight and large size of the miner, it was very easy to damage the miner during transportation process, for example, damages occurred during throwing and lifting.
In principle, the after-sales department of BITMAIN requires customers to use ANTMINER standard packaging materials. In the process of potential improper/violent transportation operations, standard packaging materials will minimize the possibility of cargo damage. However, considering that the user may need to ship miners without standard packaging materials, we hereby formulate "Non-standard Packaging Recommendation" to facilitate customers to use alternative materials to complete packaging, and to reduce the shipping risk caused by irregular packaging. This "Recommendation" is applicable to all models of ANTMINER such as 19/17 series.
Declaration: This "Recommendation" is only used as a reference plan under special circumstances, and BITMAIN does not bear the risk of cargo damage and economic loss incurred therefrom.
II. Standard packaging
When using the standard packaging of ANTMINER, it is recommended to use the packing method with the power supply facing down (for all-in-one machines). Specific steps of packing are as follows: a. Put the foam at the bottom of carton; b. Pack the carton with the power supply facing down; c. Pay attention to the orientation of the carton when loading, as shown in Figure 5~Figure 8.
The original packaging of ANTMINER contains upper and lower foam cushions, which can provide good protection. Please use the original packaging of the miner when returning for repair, preferably putting it in an anti-static bag, as shown in Figure 9~Figure 11. Note: The volume and shape of different ANTMINER models are different, and the corresponding foam size is different, so please use the foam of corresponding model for packaging.
III. Non-standard packaging requirements
In the case of lack of standard packaging materials, it is recommended to pack in the following styles when packing the carton, in order to reduce transportation risks.
1. Control board packaging
You can use 5mm thick pearl-wool film to wrap tightly around the control board and wrap it with tape. See Figure 12 and Figure 13 for details.
If you need to transport multiple control boards, please use foam spacing between the control boards. Do not stack the control boards one by another directly for transportation, because this method will cause the components between control boards to collide with each other, resulting in dropped parts or damage.
2. Power supply packaging
Use 10mm thick pearl-wool film to wrap around the power supply, and wrap the 8 corners of the power supply, and then wrap with tapes. See Figure 14 and Figure 15 for details.
3. Packaging of hashboard (currently only overseas customers are allowed to repair the hashboard separately)
Single board: Use 3cm thick foam to wrap around the single hashboard; strengthen the protection at the four corners, and cover the bottom and upper part of the carton with foam, as shown in Figure 16 and Figure 17.
If there are multiple hashboards that need to be transported, they should be separated from each other with foam of more than 10mm between the hashboards. It’s not allowed to stack the hashboards one by another directly for transportation, because in this way, the heat sink between hashboards will collide with each other, resulting in drop or damage. See Figure 18.
4. Packaging of the whole machine
Use 5cm thick foam to cover the entire miner and then pack the carton. Add cushioning materials in the 8 corners of the miner. See Figure 19 and Figure 20 for details.
IV. Packaging material procurement channels
There are various types of packaging materials for sale on Amazon and ebay. Please refer to the recommended packaging materials above for purchase. Please pay attention to the thickness of the packaging materials and the protection of the upper and lower bottom positions of the product when packaging. Since the edges and corners of the miner are relatively sharp, the packaging material of bubble bag type may be scratched and leaked. It is recommended to use the pearl-wool type.

Emphasis: Do not transport bare machine under any circumstances. Please add cushioning materials.
