First look
D3 is packaged just the same like other Antminer models. It is well protected by bubble wraps, Styrofoam and a carton box with packing symbols and miner label to make sure the miner will not be damaged during transportation. Included in the package is an English guide for our customers.
Appearance and Features
The D3 miner uses two fans in the front and rear, with 6 hash board embodied in its aluminium frame to better support and protect the hash boards while dissipating the heat.
There are three hash boards in D3. Each has board has three PCIE 6-pin connectors, can cables to connect the control board.
The miner’s front has a IP report button, Ethernet connector, Reset button, fault and normal light indicators (there’re an Antminer D3 logo and a QC label). The 12 cm front fan gets intake air.
The rear fan at back produces exhaust air.
Each D3 hash board has 60 ASIC chips, which are proudly designed and development by Bitmain.
D3, just like just all other Antminers, dissipates heat by using heat sinks. The unique way of aligning the heat sinks allows the miner to dissipate heat effectively and effortlessly.
Safety Test
For this safety test, we are using an Antminer PSU APW3++, which can bought at Bitmain’s official website, and Antpool to mine. The installation is just as simple as our other ASIC Antminers, if you are familiar with S9 or L3+, installing D3 will be as easy as a breeze. All you need to do is first plug in the power connectors, and the miner can be powered up.

Heat and Noise
Putting the miner in Antpool to mine for 24 hours, we then tested the miner’s produced noise and heat. The tested area is at a 30 m2 meeting with an ambient temperature of 28 degree Celsius.
We discovered the noise to be 85 dB, 10 cm away from the miner. It decreased to 70 dB if it was measured 1 m away. This level of noise means that when the doors are closed, the noises will not be obvious.
After the miner has operated for 24 hours, we see that the hash board temperature is around 64 deg C and the chips temperature is around 84 degree Celsius. These numbers are well within the acceptable range.
Hash rate and efficiency
D3 mining efficiency per hour
D3 power consumption
The published hash rate of D3-19.3G is 19.3 G. We tested and realized that the actual hash rate is 19.41 GH/S. The consumption is 1278 W, we then calculated the efficiency to be 65.8 W/G.
As of 24 October 2017, Dash coin is valued at 1940 RMB. Accordingly to Antpool’s reward system, one unit of A3 mining for 24 hours can generate 0.067 Dash coin, which is 130 RMB. If we were to account for the electricity cost day is around 9.2 RMB/day, profit for one day 120 RMB.
