    Same problem here: only AFTER updating to the latest firmware, one of my hashboard stopped working. I've wrote 2 times to the support, and tried all methods they wrote me, but nothing worked. I repeat, AFTER UPDATING TO THE LATEST FIRMWARE ONE OF THE HASHBOARD STOPPED WORKING, so I guess it's a firmware problem, but they didn't even considered this option. I also offered to send kernel logs to help them finding the problem

    Hello I got 1 L3+ recently and first the 1 of the hash boards stopped working, then all of the sudden a second one failed all the 000000 000000 stopped showing the after updating or at least trying to update firmware A THIRD hash board wasnt showing all of the 000000's.. So now my brand new miner only has one Hash board working and I am afraid if I send the 3 damaged ones to china, the last hash board may also malfunction, apparently there is an issue with the Whole miner, not just the hash boards separetely. I am sending a screenshot of what I show now, PLEASE HELP. I have restarted and reset everything, and nothing, Also switched Power supply to a brand new one and nothing seems to work . Thank so much in advance for your help

    Thank you so much

    ATTENTION SUPPORT:

    I have an S9 and which one hash board stopped working. I have sent it in for repair twice. It just came back yesterday and worked great for 24 hours and then lost a hash board again. It happened right after I switched pools to BTC.com pool. How can this keep happening? Is this a firmware issue? Did the control board crash? Surely it can't still be the hash board if I sent it in twice you must have replaced it by now. What should I do? Has anyone has this issue and fixed it? Please advise.

    I just received L3+ today from batch Aug 28-Sep 12, I was power on it and found asic status is "x" that mean chip damaged!!!! What should I do? Just receive and power on it. This is a new L3+? and How about your QC ?

    @Paveen A,

    Try powering it off and resetting your internet router. Sometimes mine will show false xxxx when I have a bad or lost internet connection.

    Brand new S9 13.5T, just put on the rack for less than 48 hours, founded the hash rate dropped to about 9TH/s, check the backstage status, one of the hashboards' hash rate turned into zero. After I reboot the miner, there are only two boards found, see the screen captures below.

    Simply lost one hashboard, before that everything is great, no "x" or "-", temperature is around 80.

    kernel log as below

    tried every suggestions online, then I upgrade the firmware, but the board is still missing, after upgrade, the brief is as below.

    tried isolate the malfunction,it seems the control board and the three data cable sockets are good.

    any more troubleshooting suggestions?

    Ok. So I am seeing a lot of people with the same problems I am having. I have purchased 10 Antminer S9's that shipped to me in June. So far 3 of them have had one of the hashing boards fail (still under warranty)(board no longer detected). I have sent one unit back to Bitmain but they have been far from helpful. First telling me that the package received contained something other than what the repair ticket indicated (not true). Then telling me that the unit has been forwarded for repair, and now finally that they have never received the unit. Even though I have given them the proof of delivery from UPS, they still seem unresponsive. It has been now over a month and there seems to be resolution here. What is going on? Why are Bitmain not honoring their warranties? Not sure where to go from here. At this rate, all of these units will have failed before the warranty period has even expired.

    @Grand,

    I had the same problem. First stay calm, second reset your miner, then load the newest firmware from the Bitmain support page and reboot the miner. Sometimes you have to load the firmware a couple times to make sure it worked. After I reloaded the new firmware to my S9 and rebooted it the missing hash board returned to my S9. Since then I have been too scared to touch it or move pools though lol. Hope you figure it out bro good luck.

    Hi Edward. Yep, been calm until recently - done all that several times. No response. Switched the board to other miners and still no response. Bitmain also feels these are faulty hash boards. The irritation is really the evasive and dismissive attitude that Bitmain has adopted. But, we wait and see. Thanks for the advice anyway.

    Also the fact that there are now 3 miners out of 10 down...

    hi, @Edward. do you mean that just reset and upgrade the firmware is not enough, if it doesn't work, I need to do the same stupid things time and time again, and pray, thus maybe I can get back my missing hashboard?

    @Grand,

    Sometime the firmware does not completely upload. Try resetting the miner, uploading the newest firmware, then reboot it, and power it off for a few minutes. Hopefully when you power the miner back on the hash board returns. Can't hurt to try bro should only take a few minutes.

    if the firmware doesn't completely upload, will the miner work properly? because I keep mining for almost 24 hrs with only 2 hashboards, I'm not certain if that says the firmware uploaded successfully.

    anyway, I'll try to find it out. thanks a lot.

    I had to do the firmware upload twice and reboot the miner before all 3 hash boards showed back up. I also powered down the miner after the firmware upgrade for a few minutes and then powered it back on, not sure if that makes a difference. Try it bro. Good luck.

    Hi @edward,

    So your s9 repaired twice is solved by just firmware update couple of times and the 3 board showed back?

    it seems like that, but doesn't work for me.

    Hi,

    I have S9 bought in 03/2017 and the 7 hash board is turned off after switching on and does not blink the LED even at start or after.
    Do you have any experience with this?
    Several times she was dead after a restart but after resting (about 3 hours) or resetting to the factory setting it was OK again 1-2 months.
    Now it does not help. PSU OK, control board OK, data cable for hash plate also 100% OK. Nothing was burned, it did not smell and it was visually OK.
    Is there a hard reset, resetting error hash boards, etc?

    Bitmain claims to send "the entire miner" for a warranty test and repair.
    S9 purchased before October 1, 2016 - just send a faulty hash board.
    S9 purchased after October 1, 2016 - send the entire miner. That's bad, I come up with all the performance (even good hash boards).

    What are your experiences?
    And what about the S9 post-warranty service (even those new after October 1, 2016) is also sent to the entire miner?

    Thanks for all!

    Hi guys,

    Does anyone know of you in detail the 2x LED function on hash boards? Some lights on before start mining S9 on and some are not. And for each piece S9 it's different.
    And now I find that the light LED on the hash board, which lights after the next restart is off.

    Bitmain has just recently (the current manual for the auto fw is not and probably it's all secret :-) replied that after switching on the LEDs indicate power supply hash plates. But this is not the case, because the CH8 LED is not light on some of the S9 pieces, and for another S9 piece, for example, LED on CH8 is off. All LEDs before S9 start up only on one of my S9 pieces.
    I feel that the LEDs after switching on before the start indicates the max hash frequency of the board. Frequency hash boards of the automatic fw is different.

    Then, when the S9 is mining, all the top LEDs on the hash boards light up and the lower LED is off.

    Thank you for your experience.

    ๑connect I've observed the phenomenon of LEDs, but can not explain, I'll post the detail later.

    here is a picture of hashboard, you can see there are two LEDs labeled as TF and RF. when the miner works properly, you will see the TF light on, not blink, just light on.

    Hi you all miners,

    i have the same problem with one VANISH hashboard since last week and i am ready to update the firmware to see if it works as some of you suggest here INSTEAD of shipping the whole miner back to BITMAIN.

    I just have 2 questions:

    1) Do i need to reset it first to its initial settings and THEN upload the new firmware or it doesn`t matter?

    2) WHICH of the posted firmware version is for my S9 because i am a bit confused.

    I have the 13.5TH/S with AUTO frequency model.

    I believe is the LAST ONE on their S9 support page on the firmware section? (see pic)

    Thank you all
