maybe you should create a ticket to the support team, it's a very rare situation that I‘v never met before.

    Dear Kris Kern,

I sent a weave on December 27th, not December 31st. I do not know how to your tickets, and my answer was for 1-2 days.
I understand that the hash board dead, but to me than from this it is easier? I have not been offered any help or exchange for this hash board, your hash fee is 30 miles away from you, and mine is still in a low-quality device - because I'm Russian!))
As for my investments, do you think that by acquiring the world's best miner I should expect that it will break in a week ?! I write as it is - I invested, I believed that this is a good reliable equipment, but in the end this equipment breaks down after 15 DAYS! Your miner how many worked before the breakdown? If the BTC exchange rate fell and the profit fell because of this - I would take it for granted and cry as you say it would. And I bought a new device - the best of all on the market and after 15 days it stopped working, and besides, because there is a hidden firmware flaw! You can wait a month for an answer if you like it so much, but I would like to be responded as usual to 1-2 days, as it always was in my case)

    Dear @Arif

    Dear Pato,

I dont think your 2 pcs brand new S9 cant get to work for the first time. Unless it will work for several hours until it broken. It is very usual for the first time you need to let it run about more than 30 minutes to get it work and check the miner status page. Try also reboot your router, sometimes it has to do with the network connection. You can share your miner status page after restarted router/modem and let S9 run for 30 minutes and more.

    Hi you all miners,

i have the same problem with one VANISH hashboard since last week and i am ready to update the firmware to see if it works as some of you suggest here INSTEAD of shipping the whole miner back to BITMAIN.

    I just have 2 questions:

    1) Do i need to reset it first to its initial settings and THEN upload the new firmware or it doesn`t matter?

    2) WHICH of the posted firmware version is for my S9 because i am a bit confused.

I have the 13.5TH/S with AUTO frequency model.

I believe is the LAST ONE on their S9 support page on the firmware section? (see pic)

    Thank you all

     @ Dj Bryan S

    Dont used > username : Antminer_1 ,, you must use your userneme.worker !

    sample : bryan.worker1

dont use solo mining because its very long to payout !
user payment methode PLNS or PPS !

    Pool URL :
    stratum.antpool.com:3333

    stratum.antpool.com:443

    stratum.antpool.com:25

Your welcome, hope you get it figured out, I have had boards crash and show similar signs but not discarding shares like that. good luck.

Diar Kris Kern, thank you, I understand that you want to help me.
It's not so simple, when you live in Russia with the shipment of miner all the more difficult than when you live in the US. I can send a miner from Russia to China, but I can not get a miner from China to Russia. I will have to take this miner to the address of an intermediary in the US or Europe and only through him I can get a miner in Russia. It will take at least a 1-2 month and the money will be spent on these shipments approximately as for repairing a hash board in Russia. That's why I wanted to ask the support service to help me and to check my S9 with the help of a team viewer or in a similar way and they told me to send only a hash board fee for the exchange without the miner itself, so I can receive a payment right away in Russia. But they do not answer me and it's natural that I'm upset and nervous.
The United States is a truly free country and I respect your country!

Brand new S9 13.5T, just put on the rack for less than 48 hours, founded the hash rate dropped to about 9TH/s, check the backstage status, one of the hashboards' hash rate turned into zero. After I reboot the miner, there are only two boards found, see the screen captures below.

Simply lost one hashboard, before that everything is great, no "x" or "-", temperature is around 80.

tried every suggestions online, then I upgrade the firmware, but the board is still missing, after upgrade, the brief is as below.

tried isolate the malfunction,it seems the control board and the three data cable sockets are good.

    any more troubleshooting suggestions?

    Hi guys,

Does anyone know of you in detail the 2x LED function on hash boards? Some lights on before start mining S9 on and some are not. And for each piece S9 it's different.
And now I find that the light LED on the hash board, which lights after the next restart is off.

Bitmain has just recently (the current manual for the auto fw is not and probably it's all secret :-) replied that after switching on the LEDs indicate power supply hash plates. But this is not the case, because the CH8 LED is not light on some of the S9 pieces, and for another S9 piece, for example, LED on CH8 is off. All LEDs before S9 start up only on one of my S9 pieces.
I feel that the LEDs after switching on before the start indicates the max hash frequency of the board. Frequency hash boards of the automatic fw is different.

Then, when the S9 is mining, all the top LEDs on the hash boards light up and the lower LED is off.

    Thank you for your experience.

    Thank you Grand,

Firmware upgrade worked for me. Now in the kernel log I can see that it can find all the asics.

But now in the overview, the hardware version and BMminer Version are blank. And In miner status no boards appear.

    edit:

In ordered to work I had to downgrade to the previous firmware (20170428) and restart several times (it didn't work the first time). Using the new firmware there was a problem with the fans.

However, all these solutions do not seem proper to me. Is there any definite solution to the problem?

Submitted a support ticket, but waiting to hear back. Believe that the controller firmware is not right, but can't seem to find a way to use the SD card to reinstall. Anyone have any luck with this, or is it a ship only issue?

daq79 and kris kern, the first temp should be chip temperature, but the manufacturer canceled display, maybe they don't wanna make panic because it's really hot, and the second one as shown is PCB temperature, just control this number under 80 will help it to work longer. FYI.

is there any way to check witchh batch they are?

in kernel they state 14+- TH and on the miner itself it also says 14 TH

all 3 cards have 1 red light

I'm having a problem with Chain 6 on my S9.  It doesn't work at all.  I want to try to find a way to fix this without sending it back to bitmain.  Here is a screenshot.  Also when I look at my miner one of the hash boards doesn't have a red light on unlike the other two.  Is there a way I can fix it myself.

Bitbitbears, i Live in Levelland tx, United states, My new miner is coming in from china, i started my ticket roughly on the 9th of december, by the 20th i had 7 messages back from support, as my delay i mailed miner back on the 23rd. you sent a request on the 27th, it also says in your site you posted, if this does not fix, mail the miner in to get it repaired, Dont complain and do what it says.

I have purchased over 45 peaces of equipment from bitmain, i have only had 3 that have died before the 90 day warrenty, all togeath i have had 5 total fualty miners after a 3 year span,  Most of the problem is shipping, the shipping company does not care about whats in a package when they toss it on a truck or plane, Like it says before you start your miner for the first time, shake it lightly and make sure there is no loose heat sinks.

This being said, I also mine ethereum, I recieved 22 dead gpus in one order from asus, Everyone has there bad batch. If its a dead hashboard (does not show a red light when you start it up) SEND THE MINER IN FOR REPAIR, you do not need to be approved to send it in for repair.

Can somebody from Bitmain provide status on RMA:

    03320171109231323836UbxESVP00697

You hays had it for 5 weeks RMA for missing hashboard and NOT a single update.

Ridiculous! The worst customer services I've ever experienced.

I agree it just seems excessive that only 1 of my boards is having this many issues. After 16.5 hours, the middle board has now had 4,054 errors and the other two boards 0.

Another strange issues is that the fan will shoot up to 6,200 RPMs for about 15 seconds and then cycle back down to 4,200 RPMs every few minutes.

Is there any documentation defining what each of the values are in the 'Miner Status' chart??

    Hello to all...

    I have a problem with S7 and S9 too

The miner works without hash rate and all on miner status look OK. Have anybody idea where can be the problem or whot can I do for detect. Thanks

The hash rate of S7 is normal around 5,4 TH/s (54 ASIC on each board) Now is hr only around 2 TH/s.

Yeah, I get that. I'm using default settings. The miner won't mine above zero hashrate no matter what pool I choose.

Hi, one of my L3+ miners have stopped working, the green light at the back is flashing green but there is no data in the Asic Status as per the screenshot below. I have done a factory reset but still have the same issue.

All my other L3`s are working fine on the same pool with no issues. The miner was working fine previously as well. I also did switch it off and on a few times but still the same error.

I've fixed one of my 2 miners,. I flashed the August firmware , and did many restarts. Wait about 15 min between full reboot.

My second miner has a dead hashboard. Kinda sucks to buy equipment and come in broken :(

hi, @Edward. do you mean that just reset and upgrade the firmware is not enough, if it doesn't work, I need to do the same stupid things time and time again, and pray, thus maybe I can get back my missing hashboard?

    1) according to the official support staff's suggestion, you need to reset first, then upgrade to the newest firmware. but this doesn't help.

    2) you should apply the last one.

hope you have more luck than me.
