I have the same problem on my S9 13.5  Hardware version and BMminer Version are blank and the Miner Status page isn't reporting anything.

Out of the box , let it run for about 4 hours and waited for the CPU to be 100% idle then rebooted waited for idle, then hard booted and let it cool off. Once I started it back up after about 20 min it was idle again and I updated the firm ware which said it "successed" and I still had the error. Then I did the soft restore, no joy, then the reset button   I've loaded the latest firm ware multiple times and attempted to load the update fix as well with no joy.

I use -Flashing SD card with image - Tools and Instructions to Image SD card, after boot wtiht this soft, can not enter the miner. The User : root and pass root not working. the ssh conection refused the machine.

PLS BITMAIN thell the people the user and pass. do not send defectiv machine , DOA.

Short version: If you have an ASUS router with AiProtection enabled, in particular the malicious sites blocking, it's blocking the S9 from connecting to the various pools and preventing the miner from fully initializing.  I disabled this feature on my ASUS router and my S9 is functioning normally.

Long version: Like many others, I received an Antminer S9 from the December batch and the Hardware version and BMiner version were both blank.  In addition, the Miner status page was also blank.  Upon reviewing the Kernal log, it displayed the "bmminer not found, restart bmminer".  I spent days reinstalling different firmware, swapping out hash boards, trying different PSUs and finally opened a ticket with Bitmain but they are so backlogged with tickets, I decided to keep troubleshooting.  Hope this simple fix helps someone.

    @Elena55

I have the same problem on my S9 13.5  Hardware version and BMminer Version are blank and the Miner Status page isn't reporting anything.

Out of the box I was getting a Socket Connection Error, let it run for about 4 hours and waited for the CPU to be 100% idle then rebooted waited for idle, then hard booted and let it cool off. Once I started it back up after about 20 min it was idle again and I updated the firm ware which said it "successed" and I still had the error. Then I did the soft restore, no joy, then the reset button and ended up clearing the Socket Connection Error, but now Hardware version is blank!  I've loaded the latest firm ware multiple times and attempted to load the update fix as well with no joy.

This is day 3 and about the 12th hr of on box troubleshooting.

Has anyone else had this issue or a recommendation?

I have received 2 antminer s9 yesterday, both out of box have no hardare and bmminer version, using 220v with bitmain psu.
I've tried udating firmware on one of the miners. Newest firmware on support.bitmain is 3 months older then what the miners original came with.

In kernam log. Repeats bmminer not found. Restarting bmminer.
In ssh. Running bmminer gets response of no pools specified.

    Any solution to fixing

Good morning, I request your help since my S9 has presented a problem.

The temperature of the third hashboard is no longer displayed and two groups of zeros have disappeared in the ASIC state. This has caused the hash rate to be less than normal, obviously the hashboard does not work properly.

Reset the S9 and the values will not be reactivated.

What can I do to resolve this situation? What is happening?

Yeah bro I want to but I need to know they will honor the 180 day warranty first. I would have already ordered more D3 and the new S9 that is releasing but I need my original S9 under warranty fixed first bro.

I am so upset. I have been patient and followed every step of your repair process with my S9 which is still under warranty. I created a support ticket, troubleshooted with support, was instructed to pay shipping and ship the whole miner to California for repair, which I did. I received an e mail saying repair or replacement of my broken hash board was complete and I would have my S9 back in full working condition in 3 days. I was very impressed by support and the warranty process at this point even though I had spent so much time on this and paid for shipping. Received mu miner yesterday and it is in the same exact condition. It still does NOT work and the same hash board is still broken and my S9 still only hashes at 2/3 of it's hashing power. Why? Why would you put me through all this work and have me pay shipping and just send back the miner to me in the exact same condition? Why? I have been so polite. I have followed all your repair instructions and I am still under warranty. Why are you putting me through so much grief? I don't understand and feel like just giving up on mining all together.

Same problem here: only AFTER updating to the latest firmware, one of my hashboard stopped working. I've wrote 2 times to the support, and tried all methods they wrote me, but nothing worked. I repeat, AFTER UPDATING TO THE LATEST FIRMWARE ONE OF THE HASHBOARD STOPPED WORKING, so I guess it's a firmware problem, but they didn't even considered this option. I also offered to send kernel logs to help them finding the problem

Daq79. Look at combining a 1200 watt and a 600 watt. 1200 watt evga on 2 boards and 600 watt on single board. When mine does autotune it ramps up close to 1700 watss. After it starts mining I'm close to 1400 watts and 13.9 th

As you can see above I shipped my S9 to the California repair facility as it is still under warranty. I was told repair or replacement of the broken hash board was complete. Look at the screen shot of my miner, still broken, the same, actually worse as now the Chip1 temps are missing as well. It was obvious the 1 broken hash board was the issue yet you made me pay and ship the whole miner to you instead of simply sending me a replacement hash board. And then after I pay shipping and send it in for repair as instructed you reassured me it was fixed. Why did you just send me back the miner with the same broken hash board? I don't get why you would do this to me?

upgrade to most updated firmware, if it doesn't work, try to power off, wait 15 minutes, then power on, maybe several times.

I think you need more patience, uptime only 3 minutes, maybe 15 minutes for the first starting of firmware update, and 7 minutes for soft rebooting is normal.

Yeah looks like my mining project is over. Now I gotta call up all the friends I referred and give them a heads up that the warranty is fake. Very sad and disappointed with bitmain. I can't buy any more products and expand if they can't honor their warranty. I followed all their directions and paid to have the miner shipped and they didn't even try to fix it they just sent it back in the same condition and now they say I need to take it apart, take pictures of it, and pay AGAIN up front and ship it back to them. I'm starting to feel like the whole warranty is a run around scam. This sucks.

    Edward, hi.
They will not send you a new card (panel), I was told to ship the device entirely to China. You are lucky, there is a service center in the USA, but in Russia there is not. I asked to send me a fee, I will install it myself. Have refused. I can not send, one of my devices was lost and three months I can not find out what's wrong with my device.

    Dear all:

After succesfully been working for about a month, one my two new L3+´s stop hashing and failed to show miner status of the hash boards anymore. All I am reciving is a 0 hash rate on the summary section.  Pools section, on the other hand, are perfectly shown but the hashboards status section is collapsed. None of the hashboards can be seen.

I have reboot, reset, updated firmware, switch to static IP several times and none of these actions have been effective in solving this issue. Up to today it´s beed five days the machine stop hashing. What can I do about this? this is quite fursttrating since we have put a lot of effort on buying this equipment. Than you for your help.

I have had the same problem as many of you. I have 2 D3's. The first one i got Hashboard 3 was giving me excessive HW errors compared to 0 on the other 2 boards. I then updated the firmware and now Hashboard 3 does not show up at all and Hashboard 1 has started to give HW errors. The fans also ramp up to 6200rpm and then back down to 4000rpm for about 8 hours and now the fans stay on 6200rpm with no Hashboard 3 and temps are in the 50s on the PCB and 70 on the chips. Speed has gone down to 12gh/s. Working on getting it repaired under warranty hopefully everything goes ok.

On a side note my second D3 has now started to have HW errors on Hashboard 3, Im worried the same thing is going to happen. There is a obvious problem going on either with there manufacturing, QC or firmware which is understandable with electronics to a point but the trend seems to be climbing which is a terrible sign.

I had a order for 2 S9 and 2 L3+ but i think I'm going to put those on hold to see what happens with the warranty situation. Might have to go look for alternatives. Common Bitmain we all support you all we ask in return is to not only support your product but support us!
